170,000 Peace Corps volunteers have served in over 136 countries. |
| Whether
by teaching children, helping prevent environmental damage, working with
farmers to improve their crops, educating people about HIV/AIDS, creating
economic opportunity or bridging the digital divide, Peace Corps Volunteers
reach out to the poorest of the poor with skills and spirit. Men and women
of all ages, backgrounds and beliefs make up the Peace Corps, and show
the rich diversity of America to the people with whom they live and work.
