Federal Surplus Property

• Federal Surplus warehouse is not open to the general public.
• NC State University employees may purchase items from the Federal Surplus warehouse for University use only.

Step 1 : Forward to Materials Support a memo from the Department Head on University letterhead authorizing the employee to go to Federal Surplus. This memo is necessary only once for each employee.

Step 2 : Obtain a Materials Support authorization form, from the Materials Support business office located at 3240 Ligon Street, each time you visit the Federal Surplus warehouse. This form must be dated with the correct date.

Step 3 : Visit the Federal Surplus warehouse from 7:00 am until 5:30 pm Monday through Thursday (closed on Fridays).

Step 4 : Federal Surplus Property will send a bill to Materials Support for the items you purchase.

Step 5 : Materials Support will then bill the department by Service Unit Billing for all purchases made.
