Drug-Free Workplace
NC State is committed to maintaining a workplace free from the unlawful manufacture, use, dispensing, possession, or distribution of controlled substances.
An employee who reports to work under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs, or who manufactures, uses, dispenses, possesses, or distributes alcohol or illegal drugs in the workplace may be dismissed without prior warning for Unacceptable Personal Conduct. Further, drug abuse by employees may result in criminal prosecution by government agencies in addition to disciplinary action by the University.
Note: Employees required to hold a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) are subject to random drug testing.
