SPA Performance Increases

A permanent employee may receive performance salary increases as dictated by legislation specifying funding and selection criteria. Details on criteria are communicated by Human Resources. The basis for a salary increase is an appraisal of an employee's work performance. An employee's performance is valuated not only individually but also in relation to other employees within the appropriate work unit.

Full- and part-time permanent SPA (Subject to the State Personnel Act) employees are covered by this policy.

Procedures

Supervisors are responsible for conducting performance appraisals, for informing employees of the manner and procedures for determining and paying increases, and for explaining the reasons why performance salary increases are granted or denied.
