NC State offers a number of programs provided through different departments to assist you as an employee in improving, and maintaining a healthy state of wellness.

Weight Watchers at Work

"Weight Watchers at Work" is a 17-week program designed to help you lose weight. Anyone interested can attend an open house meeting on Centennial Campus. For more information about meeting times and locations, please contact Sue Cross at 515-7036 or sue_cross@ncsu.edu.

Striding to Better Health (walking groups)

Interested in starting a walking group? Tie up your laces, find a few friends and check out campus maps that measure distances and time on the Wolf Trails website to get started.

Smoking Cessation Program

Deer Oaks EAP Services (service contracted for all NC State employees and family members) offers a Smoking Cessation Program called Breathe L.I.F.E..  Thousands of smokers make an effort to quit smoking each year. Deer Oaks has developed a four-week smoking cessation program to offer support, guidance, strength, and direction to those who are interested in improving their lives by discontinuing their use of tobacco products. Taking off Pounds Sensibly

The NC State employee chapter of the weight-loss support group TOPS – Taking Off Pounds Sensibly – has open enrollment periods where interested employees may attend a free introductory meeting. An annual membership is $24, plus a $2 monthly chapter fee. For more information, contact Lynda Hambourger at lynda_hambourger@ncsu.edu or learn more at the TOPS Web site.
