September
  • Use scholarship search sites to identify outside scholarships you may want to apply for
  • Check national, state, private, corporate, foundation and local scholarship opportunities
  • Apply for outside scholarships in your school and community
October
  • Apply for outside scholarships in your school and community
November
  • Freshmen - Apply for Admission by November 1 to be considered for University-wide academic scholarships
December
  • Save your year-end payroll stub as you may need it to complete the FAFSA
  • Current first year students check the Caldwell Fellowship website for dates and instructions
January
  • Submit your FAFSA on the Web, as soon after January 1 as possible
  • Get your taxes prepared early, and save copies in case they are needed by the Financial Aid office
  • Aid disbursement for current students occurs on the first day of the spring semester
  • Chancellor's Leadership Scholarship available online
February
  • FAFSA Day - Check local information for assistance in completing the FAFSA
  • Get your taxes prepared early, and save copies in case they are needed by the Financial Aid office
  • Gatling Grant - Admission application and birth certificate due February 1
March
  • March 1 is NC State's priority filing date for submission of the FAFSA
  • Submit copies of tax forms to the Financial Aid office, if requested
  • Apply for aid if you plan to attend summer school
  • Chancellor's Leadership Scholarship application due March 1
  • Report outside scholarships to Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid
April
  • Award letters mailed to new entering freshman & transfer students
  • NC State academic scholarship offers announced
May
  • Entering freshmen - Enrollment Deposits due May 1 to confirm your place in NC State's freshman class
  • NC State Family Scholarship application due May 1
June
  • Award letters mailed to currently enrolled NC State students
  • Edward Ruggles - Southeastern Gas Association Dependent Scholarship application due June 1
  • James Rider - Carrier Corporation Dependent scholarship application due June 1
  • Tom Glover Scholarship - NC DOT dependent scholarship application due June 1
  • City of Raleigh dependent scholarship application due June 1
July
  • Attend New Student Orientation
  • Fall semester bills sent to students
  • First time borrowers sign Master Promissory Note and complete Entrance Loan Counseling
