Students approved to attend NC State under these Chapters of the GI Bill are provided a monthly stipend, of which a portion is intended as payment of educational costs. The University requires payment in full prior to the beginning of each semester; however, these GI Bill students are eligible to make monthly payments of current semester charges by completing the Payment Agreement for NC State Tuition under the GI Bill and forwarding it to the Cashier’s Office.
Students approved to attend NC State under Chapter 33 (Post 9/11) of the GI Bill are not required to pre-pay their tuition and fees, providing, they have been certified by the VA and the University Certification Officer in Registration and Records prior to the start of the term. Payment for Chapter 33 students will be made directly from the VA to the Cashier’s Office.
VA Certified students who will have housing, dining or other non-tuition or fee related expenses on their account, and wish to make monthly payments using their housing allowance, must complete the GI Bill Payment Agreement. (See terms and conditions below). Funds for these charges are paid directly to the student on a monthly basis.
Students who do not obtain certification before the beginning of a term must have the University Certification Officer (Registration and Records) notify Cashier’ Office Third Party Billing, in writing, to be eligible for this monthly payment option. Students who are not certified by the last day of classes for that term will be responsible for payment in full of all charges on their account before being allowed to attend any future terms.
The following terms and conditions apply to the GI Bill payment agreement:
You may also wish to consider using the NC State Monthly Payment Plan that enables students and their families to make 5 monthly installments to pay each semester's tuition and expenses.
