tuition

  • The 2008-09 rates have been prepared using the most recent tuition rates approved by the University of North Carolina Board of Governors. However, these tuition rates are not considered final until formal passage of the appropriation bill by the General Assembly. If there is a difference between the tuition rates used in preparation of your bill and the final approved rates, any required adjustments will be made in a subsequent bill.
  • Tuition and fees are due and payable prior to the beginning of each semester. Failure to pay current semester charges may cause your schedule to be cancelled. Unpaid charges on your account may prevent you from registering for an upcoming term.
  • Students that have registered during the normal Registration Period will receive an email notification to the email account listed in the MyPACK Portal stating that their eBILL is available online to view, pay and print. It is your responsibility, whether you receive a statement or not, to make full payment and clear all "holds" or complete financial assistance information by 5:00pm on the due date of your bill or your schedule may be cancelled.
  • Students who register during the Late Registration period will be notified of the tuition and fee totals and due date at the time of registration.
  • If you are a sponsored student and your tuition and/or fees will be paid by an independent third party or university department, please submit the 'Notice of Sponsorship' found online at http://www.fis.ncsu.edu/cashier/forms/sponsor.asp by the due date. Incomplete forms cannot be processed and writing on your remittance slip will not secure your registration.
  • All students paying tuition and fees are entitled to University services, facilities and programs, including the services, facilities, and programs offered by the Student Center, Health Services, Physical Education Department, and Athletics Department. An itemization of required fees can be provided upon request. Required fees must be paid by all students.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Census date is typically the 10th day of classes for each regular semester. This is the last day to register or add courses. It is also the last day to drop a class or change to audit with a tuition adjustment. This date is posted in the MyPACK Portal and on the UCO Tuition Rate Page.

  • Upon adding course work that results in an increased rate, students will be billed during the next Cashier's Office billing cycle. Refunds resulting from courses dropped prior to the semester’s census date will be processed after census date. If you have not signed up for Direct Deposit, refund checks will be mailed to the university home/mailing address listed in the MyPACK Portal.
  • Courses dropped or changed to Audit after Census date are not eligible for a reduction in rates. (see http://www.fis.ncsu.edu/cashier/Tuition/refundinfo.asp )
  • Once the semester begins, students who wish to drop all course work for which they are registered must withdraw from the university. Do not use the MyPACK Portal. Undergraduate and graduate degree students should contact the Counseling Center to initiate an official withdrawal. For refund information about withdrawals go to: http://www.fis.ncsu.edu/cashier/Tuition/withdraw.asp
  • For information on Residency requirements, see the Admissions web page at http://admissions.ncsu.edu/how-apply/residence.

  • Returned Checks: A returned check fee of $25 will be assessed for dishonored checks. The University has the right to cancel the registration of any student whose tuition and fees are paid with a "Returned" check.
  • Late Registration Fee - The late registration fee is $100.00. The fee for registration after census date for that semester is $150.
