2005 FEE INCREASE INFORMATION

Thanks to all of your hard work and support, the Talley Student Center Board of Directors voted to support the $39.45 Student Center Operations Fee increase request! But, this is only one step along the way. We still need your help!

PLEASE Contact your Student Senators by Monday, October 10th to tell them you support the Student Center Operations Fee increase request. (See the instructions and contact info below!)

October 12 ~ Rally for the Arts

The Campus Arts Council, Mu Beta Psi, and Alpha Psi Omega are asking for your help!

We urge you to join us on Wednesday, October 12, as we rally for the arts in support of the proposed Student Centers Operations Fee Increase. As a student involved with one of the six programs of ARTS NC STATE, you know how important the arts are on this campus, and we need you to share your feelings with your Student Senators.

The Student Senate will meet on October 12 at 7:30pm to consider the proposed fee increases for 06/07 and vote whether or not to endorse them. As the students most closely involved with the six arts programs on campus – your presence that evening WILL make a difference!

There has already been a tremendous amount of support generated in support of the arts thanks to the strong advocacy of dedicated students. In fact, the Talley Student Center Board of Directors voted just Monday night in support of the $39.45 Student Center Operations Fee Increase.

But we can’t stop there! It is extremely important that the University Fee Review Committee receive a strong endorsement from the Student Senate for these fees that will greatly benefit the arts programs that we all enjoy.

Here is what we need you to do on the 12th ~

6:30pm – Steps of Talley (Cates Avenue side)
Gather for PIZZA and receive some materials and last minute information about the fee requests.

7:00pm – March to the Student Senate Chambers with the NC State Drumline
The NC State Drumline will proudly (and loudly!) lead the way to the Student Senate Chambers in Witherspoon. The more of you that turn out, the more impressive our presence will be!

7:00-7:30pm – Student Senate Chambers, Witherspoon Student Center
We will talk with our Senate representatives and encourage their support for the Student Center Operations Fee Request.

Together, we are the students on this campus who know how important the arts are in our lives and how important they are to the life of NC State University. Make your voice heard. Join us on October 12!

Thanks!

Ashley Peacock – President, Mu Beta Psi
Jessie Stewart – President, Alpha Psi Omega
Beth McIntyre – President, Campus Arts Council
