The ARTS at NC State welcome community involvement
and we like to be involved with the community!
University Theatre offers a summer season
of productions that offer area actors the opportunity to work
with the students in shows at Thompson Theatre. Watch for audition
announcements in March. When time and production schedules allow,
we also work with community organizations in programs of a theatrical
nature, whether it is presenting a short scene from a current
production or a fashion show of costumes from a particular era,
or we can provide speakers for your event.
Center Stage presents shows for area schools—see
their school matinee schedule for information. As time and shows
permit, they also may provide speakers for your event or work
with your organization on educational events.
The Department of Music offers several opportunities
for community musicians. The Raleigh Civic Chamber Orchestra and
The Raleigh Civic Symphony are comprised of students and area
musicians. For audition information call the music department
at 515.2981.
The Crafts Center classes are open to the public.
The center works closely with many area crafts guilds and presents
an annual sale at Christmas and periodic gallery exhibits.
The Gallery of Art & Design offers lectures
open to the public. Check their schedule for current information.
And watch for the annual Celebrate! ARTS NC STATE
gala in the spring. It is a great time to gather friends for a
marvelous night out with food and fun!
